PDL (Printed Direct Laminate) Flooring Technology was developed as an alternative production technology to DPL (Direct Pressure Laminate) Flooring Technology. Although both technologies have their share in the industry, you can easily see from the table below that PDL Technology is one step ahead of DPL Technology.

The advantages of PDL Technology over DPL Technology in wood applications used in the furniture industry go beyond the simplicity of the production steps. These can be summarized as follows;

• PDL  Technology allows you to reduce your warehouse costs and enables very high production capacities (up to 80.000 m² per day with just one coating line).
• When a new trend emerges in the industry, the remaining decor paper has to be disposed of, since in DPL Technology printing is done with decor paper only. However, in PDL Technology, it is possible to change to a different color very easily with a water-based basecoat.
• PDL Technology allows you to change the gloss levels effortlessly without making any significant adjustments on the machine, whereas in DPL Technology the "press plate" has to be changed.
• Due to the high surface tension of the chemicals used in DPL Technology, it is necessary to press "balancing paper" on the reverse surface of the parquet to prevent the parquet from "cupping". In PDL Technology, only a small amount of basecoat is applied, providing resistance against moisture and insects.
• PDL Technology's water-based, UV-curable coatings are safer and healthier as they do not contain carcinogenic substances.
• In total, the total cost of PDL coating is much lower than that of DPL Technology (Impregnated Decor Paper and Balance Paper for the top surface).
